“Bundeling as a communication tool and binding agent for our employees”
Seacon Logistics operates globally as a ‘chain director,’ managing the full logistics process for its clients. With offices in the Netherlands, Germany, and Hungary, and around 450 employees, the organisation has grown significantly over the years.
As the company expanded across multiple locations, maintaining strong internal communication and connection between colleagues became increasingly complex.
Rico Gielen, marketing manager at Seacon Logistics, has been closely involved in this development.
Connecting a growing organisation
Seacon Logistics has a strong presence across different regions. In Venlo alone, the company operates from 11 separate buildings, alongside international locations.
Bringing all employees together and ensuring knowledge is shared effectively across these locations required a more structured approach.
Bundeling was introduced alongside a new marketing strategy and the launch of their internal platform, Seaconnected.
One central communication environment
Within Seacon, Bundeling plays a central role in internal communication.
The news module is a key component, where marketing and communication initiatives are shared across the organisation. At the same time, a clear decision was made: Bundeling would become the primary communication channel.
“So, we don’t handle everything via email. If you want to stay involved as an employee and access that information, you must use Bundeling.”
This shift ensures that information is centralised and accessible, helping employees stay connected regardless of location.
Combining online and offline engagement
In addition to digital communication, Seacon actively creates moments for interaction.
SeaConnected Live is one of those key initiatives. During this event, management shares the direction of the organisation, while employees are given the opportunity to provide input and engage directly.
“Yes, the combination of physical and online is crucial.”
Driving engagement across the organisation
Engagement within the app is strong, but not taken for granted.
“You have to engage your employees with information that’s important to them.”
An internal editorial team plays a key role in this. They are responsible for selecting relevant content and ensuring that communication remains meaningful for employees.
Different departments also actively use the platform to strengthen connection and collaboration.
Enabling collaboration and internal mobility
One example is Seacon Switch, an initiative led by HR.
Through this feature, employees can temporarily take on roles in other departments or join specific projects. These opportunities are shared via the app, allowing colleagues to respond directly.
This not only supports internal mobility, but also strengthens collaboration across teams.
Strengthening connection beyond work
The platform is also used to connect colleagues on a more personal level.
Through the noticeboard, employees can share personal updates or promote activities outside of work. This creates additional touchpoints between colleagues and contributes to a stronger sense of community within the organisation.
“It’s actually outstanding. Bundeling helps us be OneSeacon.”
By connecting employees across locations, departments, and roles, the platform helps Seacon operate as one unified organisation.
“Colleagues get to know each other and support each other, which helps us achieve our goals.”
“It’s a great partnership. Also, if there’s ever a need for support, Bundeling responds quickly.”
